Donald Trump and Melania Trump's visit to Taj Mahal was very different from Princess Diana’s tour sans Prince Charles.

On Monday, the president and first lady of the United States arrived in India and visited the iconic Taj Mahal. According to a body language expert, their rare PDA showed the romance between them, which was very different compared to the Princess of Wales, who showed up at the romantic place without her husband.

“The iconic history of the Taj Mahal as the ultimate romantic statement of love and loss means every couple posing in front of it will perform some sort of intentional gesture or non-verbal signal of the state of their own relationship,” Judi James told Express.

According to James, Princess Diana hinted at her troubled marriage when she was photographed sitting alone on the bench with the majestic Taj Mahal on the background. Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom looked “isolated, sad and vulnerable.” The late royal tucked her legs to one side showing a self-diminished pose and her lip-twisting wry smile was interpreted by the expert as a “shrug of regret.”

“In contrast with Diana's uncoupling signals, the Trumps pose here in a state of conscious coupling veering on the self-conscious coupling, standing erect and mirrored in a rare moment of PDA,” James said of the POTUS and FLOTUS.

“Status, strength and power are a given from the signals of this couple, who tend to prefer standing to attention to indulging in prolonged bouts of eye-gazing or even smooching, but the hand clasp with curled fingers does suggest that the romance of the location has affected the President and his First Lady. Their outfits even appear to be subtly co-ordinated, giving a bit of a 'team of two' feel to their messaging and although their smiles appear a little rigid and forced, there's a hint that Trump might just see himself in the role of romantic lead here.”

Trump showed a clip when he and Melania were departing from the White House on Twitter. However, it was flooded with comments from his critics encouraging him to stay in India and not to return to the U.S.

Meanwhile, Trump and Melania were warned ahead of their trip about monkey attacks. There are many monkeys and stray animals in the area where they are visiting and there were a lot of reports about tourists being attacked.
