The majority of the Republicans in a recent survey consider Donald Trump a better president than Abraham Lincoln.

The Economist and YouGov made a survey about U.S. Politics last week. They asked 1,500 adult citizens which republican president is better and compared Trump to various presidents including George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and Abraham Lincoln.

The poll results showed that 53% of the republicans favored Trump over Lincoln. The remaining 47% voted for the latter.

However, Lincoln won the overall vote if the votes from the independents and democrats would be considered. Ninety-four percent of the democrats and 78% of the independents favored Lincoln over Trump.

Lincoln was also the choice president across all possible polling metrics for both men and women, all age groups and races, as well as based on census regions and household income.

Billy Baldwin reacted to the poll results on Twitter. “53% of Republicans apparently don’t even know who Abraham Lincoln was,” he wrote.

“That’s a blatant lie, and who ever took the poll obviously didn’t know the emancipation proclamation,” another reacted.

In related news, Melania Trump has always been very confident in Donald Trump’s leadership skills. Twenty years ago, she was asked about her thoughts of becoming the first lady of the United States. The former supermodel was open to it and even said that if that would come, she would follow a traditional approach similar to Jackie Kennedy and Betty Ford.

The FLOTUS also said that she would “support” and “stand by” Donald’s side. When asked about Donald’s political plans at the time, Melania shared that there was a possibility that he would run for president and she believed that he could manage the position well.

“He’s very smart. He knows how to do a business. He would be a great leader,” Melania said of Donald.

Melania and Donald have been married for 14 years already. According to Melania, they have a great relationship and she is very confident in their marriage. In fact, she doesn’t mind not being with her husband all the time.
