The Apple iPhone X may be the company’s most advanced iPhone till date. However, its aesthetics don’t seem to match its level of technology, making it look less attractive in comparison to phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8.

Even Samsung made fun of the iPhone X notch in an ad which made fun of 10 years of iPhones. The notch is one of the biggest criticisms that the iPhone X has received, since it mars the look of the otherwise sleek looking Super Retina display.

It also eats up surface area on a device, which now has the front fully covered by the display now that Apple has dumped the home button.

If you own an iPhone X, but find the notch hideous, there are solutions available.

Here’s what you can do:

Download an app: Notcho is a special app designed for just one purpose — hiding the iPhone X notch. iPhone X users can create wallpapers on the app that will hide the notch. These wallpapers will have special black areas that will form flaps on both sides of the notch. Even though this will make the top bezel look bigger, your iPhone X design will flow in straight lines and look sleeker.

The app is available as a free download from the app store, but with wallpapers with watermarks. If you want the watermark removed, you can pay a one-time fee of $1.99.

Here is the link to download it.

iFixit wallpapers: iFixit has published its teardown of the iPhone X. Since the teardown is complete, the company has published some internal wallpapers, which show the components of the device. Using these wallpapers will make your screen seem transparent. When you look at it, the feeling of looking straight through the screen will divert attention from the notch.

You can download these wallpapers from iFixit’s website.

Create your own wallpapers using Photoshop: You can download the Photoshop app for iPhone and create your own wallpaper to hide the notch. To do so, you will first need to download a special stencil. You can then open a file in the app, open an image on your iPhone X and crop it to fit the device. You will need to resize a photo depending on its dimensions.

Once you have the photo edited according to your needs, you will need to set up your new wallpaper. To do that, you will have to open the Photos app on your device, click on the image, then click share and then tap on “use as wallpaper.”

Download a notch-less wallpaper: You can download stock “notch-less” wallpaper made by technology website Gadget Hacks. The wallpapers are available for free and you can download them using this link.

Stock look wallpaper: Tech guru Alex Huberman shared his edited version of the stock iPhone X wallpaper on Twitter last week.

The wallpaper makes the notch disappear but retains the stock feel of the iPhone X. You can download the wallpaper from this link.
