Elizabeth Banks is the latest celebrity to grace the cover of Porter magazine.

During her recent interview, Banks opened up about her decision to choose surrogacy over personally giving birth. Banks admitted she’s physically unable to carry a child, calling it “broken belly,” and still feels “judged” for having a child via surrogacy.

“Women’s reproductive issues were things you would whisper about in small groups. [Now] there’s #ShoutYourAbortion and IVF Facebook groups,” Banks said to the reporter. “I definitely think I’m still being judged for what I’ve done and that people don’t understand my choices, but I don’t feel I owe anybody any explanation. And, if my story helps people feel less alone on their journey, then I’m grateful for that.”

Banks has two children, Magnus and Felix, whom she shares with her husband, Max Handelman. Both were born using surrogacy.

The married couple met on their first day of college at the University of Pennsylvania. They have been together for 27 years.

“It’s the thing I’m most proud of,” Banks said to Porter. “I do think people grow together or they grow apart. We definitely grow together. We were constantly making decisions that kept us close.”

Hendelman doubles as Banks’ business partner at Brownstone Productions, and the company just produced Banks’ newest movie, “Charlie’s Angels.”

Not only did Banks produce the movie but, she also wrote, directed and starred in the remake. Even though the movie hasn’t done well in the box office, Banks went on Twitter to make light of the situation by saying “Well, if you’re going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4X. I’m proud of “Charlie’s Angels" and happy it’s in the world.”

“Charlie’s Angels” had a $48 million budget but only made $8.6 million in the US box office on opening weekend, Digital Spy reports.
