Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi in Marvel’s “The Eternals,” announced on Twitter that she has wrapped filming. This follows not long after Richard Madden, who plays Icarus in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, reportedly confirmed he wrapped as well.

The two actors finishing filming for their respective roles in the movie seems to imply that the film is close to, if not completely, done with principal photography, according to Screen Rant. However, it likely won’t be known for quite some time where they are in the process of making the movie. Marvel is particularly secretive about their projects, considering details are scant on the massive MCU film.

The only things that have been revealed so far about Marvel’s “The Eternals” are the main cast, the fact that the story supposedly takes place over 7,000 years, and that Kumail Nanjiani underwent an intense transformation with his role.

As for what's next, even if the film has wrapped principal photography, that does not mean things are even close to being completely wrapped up, however, as the possibility of reshoots is still on the horizon. Marvel Studios and other production companies are known for usually scheduling reshoots on big-budget films. “The Eternals” undoubtedly has a lot to live up to, given that it’s the film that launches phase 4 of the MCU, setting up the events and tone of the MCU films to come.

The Eternals are massively popular characters that have faced off against or teamed up with the Avengers on many occasions. They even have ties to big Infinity Saga baddie Thanos, who was revealed at one point in the comics to be an offshoot of the Eternals race, called “Deviants.”

One possible plot detail of “The Eternals” could involve these Deviants, leading many to speculate that “The Eternals” may feature a young Thanos or at least provide insight as to what happened on his home planet, Titan. Screen Rant previously reported on this, revealing some concept art showing off a younger Thanos with his Eternal parentage.

“The Eternals” is set to release on Nov. 6 later this year.
