The song “Shallow” from the 2018 remake of “A Star Is Born” has found new life thanks to London-born singer Charlotte Awbery.

A video of Awbery singing the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hit went viral after she was randomly asked to “finish the lyrics” in the London underground for a YouTube segment and perfectly belted the chorus. Her video caught the attention of people around the world and garnered 60 million views, furthering her success as a singer.

Here’s everything that’s happened to her since the video of her rendition of “Shallow” was posted by YouTuber Kevin Freshwater a week ago.

She Caused “Shallow” To Reenter Popular Music

It appears Awbery’s voice spurred a renewed interest in the original tune. The song from the Oscar-winning film reentered the iTunes charts in the Top 40, Oprah Magazine reported.

She’s Amassed An Entirely New Fanbase Worldwide

Not only did millions of people view the video of her singing, but she’s earned herself her own army. “Charlotte’s Web,” as her fans are calling themselves, are based all over the world, with some of her biggest support coming from Brazil, BuzzFeed reported.

She Appeared On 'Ellen'

Awbery was invited on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday to display her viral vocals for the audience, once again singing “Shallow.” At press time, the video of her stateside performance had over 4.1 million views.

During her interview portion of her talk show appearance, Awbery confirmed that the video that made her famous was not staged and that she is overwhelmed by the whirlwind of her new fame. DeGeneres then gifted her with a year-long pass for the London tube and £10,000 pounds from Shutterfly.

Awbery went from 4,000 Instagram followers to 560,000 in one week. One of those followers includes pop star Ariana Grande, who is the second most followed person in the world on Instagram, according to GQ Australia.

“I followed her back!” Awbery told DeGeneres.

Awbery isn’t sure where her life will lead her next, but she did reveal to DeGeneres that her father’s advice to her has always been “Just sing wherever you are.”
