“Marvel’s Iron Fist” Season 2 hit Netflix Friday, and audiences will get to see star Finn Jones’ favorite fight scene towards the beginning of their binge-watching session. The Danny Rand/Iron Fist actor revealed to International Business Times that his favorite action sequence is the Davos-Danny showdown.

“I actually like all of the fight scenes because they’re all great but in very different ways. One of my favorite fight sequences is — I love the fight sequence in Season 2 when there’s a flashback to K’un-Lun,” Jones told IBT in an exclusive interview.

Fans got a glimpse of the sequence in trailers for the Marvel series. It’s the one where Danny is wearing the traditional Iron Fist mask, but he isn’t the only one wearing it. So is Davos (Sacha Dhawan). In the flashbacks, they’re both fighting to get the power and responsibility of being the Iron Fist. Obviously, fans know that Danny wins and Davos makes it out alive, but Jones enjoyed the intensity of the sequence.

“I like that fight sequence because it’s very well choreographed, but also, there’s a lot of emotional tension between me and Davos in that scene,” he explained. “It’s really nice to see these two brothers go head-to-head and not just be angsty but a lot of emotion behind there as well. So that was probably one of my favorite scenes that stands out.”

Jones says those aren’t stunt doubles in the scene, either. The actors do as much as possible on “Iron Fist.”

“I do all of the stunts. The main thing that Clayton Barber, the stunt coordinator…. he wanted all of the actors to do all their stunts [so when the audience watches] the stunt sequences [they] see the actors performing those moves,” Jones explained. “And so every fight sequence this year, I perform myself.”

Obviously, becoming Iron Fist takes quite a bit of work. Jones was dieting and training for months before cameras started rolling on the Netflix drama.

“What that meant was I had to do a very rigorous and long training regimen leading up to the show. I trained for around five to six months leading up to it. It was five days a week,” he said. “I trained in various different martial arts disciplines. I did yoga. I did meditation. [I] also worked with a personal trainer on strength and agility as well. Not to mention a strict diet. So it was a very intensive and long process.”

Barber was the one who wanted Jones to do as much as possible, but he wasn’t around for the first season. In fact, “Marvel’s Iron Fist” had a lot of behind-the-scenes changes after last year’s critically-panned first season.

“One of the biggest changes is we have a new showrunner [Raven Metzner]. So we have a new showrunner, we have new writers, we have new directors, we have new producers, we have new stunt coordinators, we have new actors in the show. So really, everything is new,” Jones emphasized. “Everything is different. But ultimately, what that means is that Season 2 really feels like an evolution from the first season. The fight sequences have evolved, the characters have evolved and also, the story and the plot has evolved too, so yeah, it’s a pretty exciting Season 2.”

All the excitement of “Marvel’s Iron Fist” Season 2 is now available on Netflix.
