The Rancho Santa Fe fire department responded to a fire at a 20,000-square-foot house in the Spyglass Lane, near the Fairbanks Ranch area in San Diego, California on Sunday evening.

The fire crew reached the multi-story building at 8.20 p.m. local time (11.20 p.m. EST) and extinguished the fire two hours later.

The local reports said neighbors raised an alarm after witnessing smoke coming from the house. The fire department’s deputy chief, David McQuead, said there were no occupants in the building at the time and that there were no injuries reported.

McQuead added that the roof of the building had suffered the most during the fire and said that it had collapsed. The fire department reported that the building was not a threat to its surroundings and assured that no residents were displaced due to the fire.

The origin of the fire was under investigation.
