The best thing of our childhood was undoubtedly the Tom and Jerry show and we can’t thank a Florida artist enough for paying homage to the mischievous cat character Tom who was always on the prowl for Jerry the mouse.

The Florida-based artist, Nellaf, crafted a rug that featured one of the failed hunting adventured of Tom and shared the picture on Twitter only for it to shoot to viral fame.

"I made this Tom & Jerry Rug inspired by the original cartoon," Nellaf said in the caption of his post.

In the funny-looking rug, the artist managed to replicate the scene where tom got flat, taking the shape of the stairs. The rug sort of brought the scene to life and left internet users gushing over the artist’s creative chops.

In a separate tweet, the artist shared another picture of the rug and wrote that he "will be making some more Flat Tom rugs soon. Drop a follow to find out when I got more in stock."

The post, shared on March 3, has garnered over 9 million likes and a barrage of comments from amused internet users. People went gaga over the idea and even expressed their willingness to buy the rugs.

"Sometimes things just come together perfectly," a user wrote in the comment section.

"Love this! I live in a single-floor apartment. wanna have stairs just for this sole reason! " wrote another.

"Now I wish I had steps," one user wrote.

"NEEEEEED THIS FOR MY PLACE, " said a person.

Many users came up with more ideas for rugs based on other shenanigans of Tom.

The Tom and Jerry show is a 1975 television animation series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in collaboration with MGM Television. The series revolved around the rivalry between the titular characters, with the former trying to gain upper hand over the latter.
