  • Kwon Mina received flak after admitting to dating a close friend's boyfriend
  • She admitted to being a "sly fox"
  • Last year, the singer revealed she was bullied by a former AOA member

Actress and former AOA girl group member Kwon Mina was rushed to the hospital early Thursday morning after another attempt to take her life.

Kwon Mina was described as “bleeding excessively” by an acquaintance who was the first to discover her condition, reported Koreaboo, citing newspaper Hankook Ilbo.

The actress was reportedly not answering her phone, which led the acquaintance to check on her. Koreaboo said Mina underwent successful surgery and is now out of danger but remains unconscious.

Last year in August, the singer had attempted suicide, following which she was hospitalized.

Mina recently received flak from social media users after admitting to a cheating controversy and apologized for being a “sly fox,” reported Soompi.

“It’s true that both Mr. Yoo (a code name for her boyfriend) and I cheated,” Kwon Mina said in an apology letter she posted on Instagram on July 4, according to Soompi.

The apology letter has now been deleted from the former K-pop idol’s Instagram account, including a photo of her and “Mr. Yoo” she posted on June 26 when she made her relationship public. According to Soompi, a person posted on an online community saying, “Mr. Yoo” was a live-in partner of one of Kwon Mina’s closest friends -- a revelation that sparked hatred against the singer.

In July last year, Mina alleged her former bandmate and AOA leader, Shin Ji Min, of bullying her while she worked with the group between 2012 and 2019.

She also accused Han Sung-Ho, CEO of FNC Entertainment, AOA's management agency, of turning a blind eye to the bullying incidents.

Shin Ji Min later apologized to her former colleague and left AOA, following which, Han Sung-Ho also asked for forgiveness from Mina. Later that month, AOA fans released a statement countering Kwon Mina’s bullying allegations and sided with Ji Min, Soompi reported.

Before her hospitalization after the August 2020 suicide attempt, she shared a photo on Instagram showing a slashed wrist with the caption, “I want to go to a place where I can be happy – I am feeling so much pain here. Do not even come to my funeral even if I die. I will harass you after my death," reported South China Morning Post.
