  • The changes seem to match what players have long been requesting
  • It goes to show that the developer is actually listening to players' feedback

"Genshin Impact" developer miHoYo recently shared some interesting details that it plans to release with Update 1.3, including an improved Resin system and controller.

During the recent Developer's Discussion, miHoYo revealed that the upcoming Update 1.3 will add controller support for the iOS version of the game. While the developer did not mention Android devices, it is highly likely that the feature will soon launch on the platform as well. Currently, players rely on touchscreen controls while playing the hit gacha game on mobile devices.

According to miHoYo, the iOS feature will be available as soon as Update 1.3 arrives and will work as long as the devices run on the iOS 14 operating systems or higher. This means that iOS gamers can finally use Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PS4 DualShock 4 Wireless Controller and iOS-compatible Bluetooth controllers.

"Genshin Impact" insider NEPNEP also shared some details about the game from the Developer's Discussion. The insider mentioned that players would have the chance to pre-download the game's 1.3 mobile version for their mobile devices. And when the next update arrives, according to the insider, it will be possible for players to adjust, whether by increasing or decreasing, the number of weapon materials.

The game developer also shared that there will be changes in the Resin System of the game with the launch of Update 1.3. While it is not something that would totally solve the Resin issue in the game, it is a nice thing to know that the developer is listening to players' feedback. When the update arrives, additional Resin rewards will be available.

"All events in Version 1.3 that do not require challenging Ley Line Outcrops or Domains will not consume Original Resin," miHoYo said. It also highlighted that most of the upcoming large-scale events in the game will not require Original Resin. Unfortunately, the game developer did not go into details regarding these future "large-scale events."

These are welcome changes that would definitely please "Genshin Impact" players.

Update 1.3 is rumored to launch the Lantern Festival event and would reportedly unlock Hu Tao. These are just speculations for now, so fans should take these bits of information with skepticism.
