The cast and creators of “Gilmore Girls” reunited at the 2015 ATX Television Festival in Austin on Saturday, June 7. Megan Schaefer/ IBTimes

Where they lead, we will follow. And we did -- all the way to Austin, Texas for the highly anticipated “Gilmore Girls” reunion panel at the 2015 ATX Television Festival.

Everyone’s favorite Stars Hollow residents gathered together to discuss all things Gilmore, from their most-quotable lines on the seven-season series to Amy Sherman-Palladino’s famous “final four words,” and of course -- which boyfriend everyone shipped the most for Rory (Alexis Bledel).

Check out everything we learned during the “Gilmore Girls” reunion panel below:

1. The Origin of “Gilmore Girls”

Sherman-Palladino revealed that the idea for the beloved WB drama came about while she was vacationing in Connecticut. The writer was staying in an inn located in a town filled with people who were picking pumpkins and acting jovial toward one another. She couldn’t believe it.

“I decided to put them [there]. It’s nice. There’s trees,” she said. Thus Stars Hollows was born!

2. Sherman-Palladino On Edward Herrmann

“We always wanted Edward from the very beginning. He was [Richard Gilmore],” she said of casting the late, great actor who died in December 2014. The showrunner honored her friend, who she said was the first cast member to commit to the ATX TV Festival reunion panel, with a tear-jerking montage of clips from his time on “Gilmore Girls.”

“It was an honor to work with him,” she said.

3. Most-Recited Lines

Lauren Graham, who portrayed Lorelai Gilmore on the dramedy, was quick to reveal that the line fans quote to her most is, “Oy, with the poodles already.” However, she forgot what the phrase meant! (It’s used to quiet a person down who can’t stop talking about a certain topic.)

4. What Team Are You On?

All three of Bledel’s TV boyfriends, Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) and Logan (Matt Czuchry), reunited at Season 4 of the ATX TV Festival to honor the beloved, campy series.

During the reunion panel each one of Rory’s ex’s revealed who they thought should have ended up with the journalist. While both Padalecki and Czuchry were Team Jess, Ventimiglia believed that Rory was meant to be with Dean. Bledel stayed mum regarding what team she was on.

5. Rory and Dean’s Sex Scene

Sherman-Palladino revealed that despite pressure from the network, she wanted to write the sex scene for Bledel’s character when the time was right. Although she was unsure of when that would be, she always knew she wanted it to be with Dean. “And I wanted them not to be together,” she added.

6. Casting Scoop

Liza Weil, who portrayed Paris, originally auditioned for the role of Rory on “Gilmore Girls.” It was also revealed that both the roles of Jess (Ventimiglia) and Logan (Czuchry) were created for the talented actors who portrayed them.

7. How Did Michel End Up In Stars Hollow?

Not even Yanic Truesdale knows how his character Michel ended up in Stars Hollow! While discussing where he sees his character now, he won the audience over by stating he didn’t even know how the sassy French man got there in the first place. Same, Yanic.

8. Final Four Words

Although fans were sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see if Sherman-Palladino would reveal the final four words she had always intended to end “Gilmore Girls” with, Graham stated she’d rather not hear them.

“I don’t want to know them unless I’m saying them or listening to someone in the show say them [to me],” she admitted.

Could it be: “Will you marry me?” Or perhaps: “I love you, mom."

9. Luke and Lorelai

At the very end of the panel, Graham admitted that she always thought her character and Scott Patterson’s character, Luke, would have gotten married.

10. Gilmore Girls Movie

Although Patterson has been hinting at a potential “Gilmore Girls” movie, Sherman-Palladino confirmed that a film based on our favorite Gilmore’s is “not in the works.”

“If it ever happens, I promise, we’ll do it correctly,” she told the crowd.

11. Paris and Doyle

What happened to Paris (Weil) and Doyle (Danny Strong)? The cast members told the audience that if they could guess the future of their characters they'd say that they got married.
