After suffering years of torture by her family, Lauren Kavanaugh has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old teen girl.

Kavanaugh, also known as “The Girl in the Closet,” was arrested by police after they received a tip from the teen girl, the Dallas Morning News reported. The teen reportedly had been in a sexual relationship with Kavanaugh, 25, for two months.

She met the teen through “The Lauren Kavanaugh Story” Facebook page, Fox News reported. The Facebook page is designed to provide support to abuse victims.

Kavanaugh admitted to having a sexual relationship with the teen, according to Dallas Morning News. Kavanaugh was charged with sexual assault of a child and is being held with bail set at $10,000 in the Denton County Jail.

Police do believe there are more victims and are asking parents to speak to their children to find out if they had any inappropriate contact with the woman.

From the age of two until eight, Kavanaugh was abused by her mother, Barbara Atkinson, and stepfather, Kenneth Atkinson. She was rescued from a closet in the family home in Hutchins, Texas, in 2001 and has since been known as “The Girl in the Closet.”

Both Barbara and Kenneth are serving life sentences for abusing Kavanaugh.
