  • "God of War" director Cory Balrog admits he dreams of creating a "Hawkeye" game
  • According to Balrog, he wants his Santa Monica Studio to develop the game
  • Balrog also noted that his dream "Hawkeye" game would focus on the “Hawkeye” comic by Matt Fraction and David Aja

Cory Balrog, SIE Santa Monica Studio director who is known for his work on “God of War,” wants to make a superhero game. Specifically, he wants a title focused on “Hawkeye.”

Replying to a question by IGN reporter Jonathan Dornbush who asked fans about their dream superhero game, Balrog sent an image from the “Hawkeye” comic made by writer Matt Fraction and artist David Aja – suggesting he would base his dream game off the said series.

The aforementioned “Hawkeye” comic by Fraction and Aja ran from 2012 to 2015 and is often considered one of the best Marvel comic book stories. The said comic focuses on Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and his disciple Kate Bishop, who later on took over as the “Hawkeye” title in Marvel.

Making fans more hyped up and excited, Balrog didn’t stop by posting the image from the comic book series. In the replies of his tweet, he detailed his plan for the game if ever it happens.

Obviously, Balrog wants Santa Monica Studio to develop the game. As for the voice actress of Bishop, the renowned director thinks Shannon Woodward is the perfect candidate.

Sure enough, several supporters praised his idea and commented that it is a good choice; however, they want the director to make the game happen after raising their hopes up.

It remains to be seen if Balrog will follow up with the discussion he started and push through the game. After all, if there is anyone who can make it a reality, it is him. Nonetheless, since there is no concrete plan yet, a “Hawkeye” game seems unlikely now or in the near future.

For fans who want to play a superhero game though, Sony will soon release “Iron Man VR” developed by Camouflaj. It is scheduled for launch on July 3 after being initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the said PlayStation 4-exclusive game, players will be able to suit up as Iron Man and fight in an aerial battle against supervillains. Gamers can also team up with renowned allies as Iron Man tries to stop a mysterious hacker and anti-corporate activist called Ghost.

It’s not “Hawkeye,” but it should be a good distraction as fans wait for Balrog’s next update.
