Climate change activist Greta Thunberg delivered a scathing speech to the United Nations during Tuesday’s “Climate Action Summit,” and Twitter has reacted in kind.

Thunberg’s speech was one among many speeches that marked the final day of the U.N.’s “Climate Action Summit” which began Saturday. However, Thunberg delivered one of the most impassioned speeches of the summit, calling representatives to the carpet for their apparent inaction over climate change.

“This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school, on the other side of the ocean,” Thunberg said during the speech. She continued, telling the representatives “you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, and yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing.”

Thunberg’s speech quickly spread, drawing reactions all over the spectrum on Twitter. Many users stood with the young activist, applauding her for calling out politicians for their “empty words” and demanding an end to the inaction on part of the world governments.

There were plenty of responses on the other side, with some questioning Thunberg’s experience as well as questioning how her family profits from her activism.
