The midseason finale of “Haikyuu!!” Season 4 is here with episode 13. The anime series is set to go on a hiatus and return with episode 14 in July.

The previous episode started with Karasuno High winning its first game and proceeded to round two. After the match, Hinata, Kageyama, and others were hanging out near the arena. They met the old captains of the Karasuno High’s volleyball team - Tashiro and Kurokawa.

Next up was a match between Kiyokawa and Nekoma. The players of Karasuno High sat in the audience to observe who they will be facing the upcoming rounds. Nekoma High School played a superb game and was promoted to next round two of the tournament.

Later in the episode, Hinata, Kageyama and the boys ventured out to shopping. Hinata wanted to get his hands on The Way of the Ace t-shirt. Meanwhile, Bokuto was seen throwing tantrums as he wanted to play in the bigger arena. According to Bokuto’s team members, he loses motivation pretty quickly. However, the white-haired Bokuto from Fukurodani Academy is known for his energy on the court.

The next match was between Eiwa High School and Fukurodani Academy. Eiwa was leading in the beginning, but Fukurodani came back strongly after Bokuto was inspired by his teammates. He was unstoppable and took down Eiwa. After beating them, Fukurodani proceeded to the next round.

The episode ended with the players heading back to their dorms with a resolve to survive another day in the tournament. Day one witnessed the defeat of 40 teams. What will day two have in store?

It will be interesting to see matches between Karasuno High and Nekoma and Karasuno High and Fukurodani Academy in the future. The part one finale of the current season is likely to end on a cliffhanger.
