Is “Mystery 101” filming a crossover with “When Calls the Heart” for a new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film? That’s precisely what Hearties and Sleuthers have been wondering for the last week, since Kristoffer Polaha first teased the possibility.

“Hey there, Sleuthers, this is Kristoffer Polaha, and I got a little sneak peek for you,” the “Mystery 101” star said in an Instagram video. “On our newest ‘Mystery 101,’ Amy and Travis travel back in time, and guess where we solve our next mystery. Take a look.”

The actor proceeded to show off the Jamestown Movie Set at the MacInnes Farm in Langley, BC, Canada, which happens to be used as the filming location for Hope Valley in “When Calls the Heart.”

Polaha continued: “Now, I bet all you Hearties out there recognize this place pretty well. We’ve got some good surprises coming up. Stay tuned.”

The “Mystery 101” franchise, which follows detective Travis Burke (Polaha) and college professor Amy Winslow (Jill Wagner) as they solve crimes, kicked off with its first movie, or episode as Hallmark often refers to them, in January. The second installment is currently being filmed, and it looks like “When Calls the Heart” and Hope Valley might be part of it.

Season 6 of “When Calls the Heart” returns next month, but could an official crossover be on the way, too? Are they just using the same set, or will it be referred to as Hope Valley in the movie? Will any cast members from the show appear in the movie? Specifics are still being kept under wraps, but a little sleuthing reveals a few different possibilities.

“When Calls the Heart” star Erin Krakow is currently filming a new Hallmark movie, “Dude Ranch,” with Ryan Paevey out in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, but, as that’s only about 25 minutes away from MacInnes Farm, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that she could be making a quick guest appearance in the “Mystery 101” sequel.

As she’s also working on her new film with fellow “WCTH” actress Ava Grace Cooper, who plays Opal on the show, there’s a chance they both could pop on over to film a scene or two.

Although anything’s possible, Hallmark has very tight filming deadlines for its movies, which means it would be difficult for the two actresses to have the time to leave the “Dude Ranch” set to head over to film for another movie.

Instead, it’s more likely that “Mystery 101” is either using the show’s set for the backdrop of a small town that’s not Hope Valley or that they will be using new background Hope Valley residents to fill out the set for the movie.

Another option is that Amy and Travis are, in fact, heading to Hope Valley and they will meet with a familiar face. It might not be Krakow or Cooper, but there are a bunch of other cast members who could show up. There’s one option, in particular, that social media’s throwing out there.

Gracyn Shinyei, who plays Emily Montgomery on the Hallmark drama, shared on Instagram at the start of April that she’s filming another Hallmark project this month. Last week, she teased a little more about what it could be.

Along with posting a picture of herself coming out of a set trailer with the name Emily on it, the actress wrote: “‘Emily’ is back?... but WCTH is not filming again quite yet. Hmmmm, what’s going on?”

“When Calls the Heart” might not be filming right now, but “Mystery 101” is. Perhaps Shinyei’s reprising her role for a new episode of the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series. Sure, she could be playing a character with the same name for a completely different movie or show for Hallmark, as there are quite a few filming right now, but it’s also possible she’s one of the “good surprises coming up” that Polaha mentioned.

International Business Times has reached out to Hallmark for comment but has not yet received a response.

IBT, Hearties and Sleuthers will just have to stay on top of this mystery until it’s officially been solved.
