Hannibal
Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne, right) warns Will Graham (Hugh Dancy, left) about Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen, not pictured) in episode 4 of Season 3 of "Hannibal." NBC

The search for Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) took Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) to Lecter’s childhood home in Lithuania in episode 3 of Season 3 of NBC’s “Hannibal.” Will did not find the serial killer, but he did uncover some important secrets about Lecter’s past and picked up a new ally -- Chiyo (Tao Okamoto) -- in the quest to track Hannibal down. What will happen in episode 4, “Apertivo”?

According to the synopsis of the new episode, another name will be added to the list of those currently searching for Hannibal: Dr. Chilton (Raul Esparza). Viewers will remember Chilton as the administrator of the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane who took a keen interest in Will. Chilton returns to the show disfigured from a gunshot wound sustained in Season 2 when Miriam Lass (Anna Chlumsky) shot him, believing, thanks to Hannibal, that Chilton was the Ripper. The doctor wants to use Will as bait to hunt Hannibal.

However, Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), who made his first Season 3 appearance in episode 3 Thursday, wants Will to give up on finding Lecter. He believes it is too dangerous to be worth it.

The promo for the episode reveals that Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) -- did anyone actually die in the Season 2 finale? -- agrees with Crawford. She is also warning Will about Hannibal. Plus, the sneak-peek video shows that yet another character, Mason Verger (Joe Anderson), is out for revenge against Hannibal: Verger wants to see the titular character eaten alive!
