With the coronavirus limiting travel for the holidays, it doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on the beauty of the holiday lights. You can still travel the world and get a glimpse of Christmas in all its glory at many travel spots located around the world through a series of live virtual tours.

Here are some of the most coveted locales to see the holiday lights right from the comfort of your home:

New York City

Nothing is more spectacular than Christmas in New York City. But if you were unable to get to the Big Apple for the holidays, you can take a live 90-minute tour with a local tour guide to see the city’s most sought-after sites.

On your tour, you’ll visit Columbus Circle, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Hudson Yards, Museum Mile, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park, and more as time allows.

The virtual tour will take place by car and foot and costs $135.

Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland

Children will love this tour of Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland, where they can have a 30-minute virtual visit with Santa. Here, they’ll be able to ask questions as they interact with Mr. Claus.

He’ll tell the kids about his 400 years’ experience as Santa as well as how his elves make all the toys. He’ll even share some secrets about his Ear mountain home, read letters, and eat some food from Mrs. Claus.

Jerusalem, Israel

Head off to Jerusalem for a tour of the Jewish Quarter on an up to one and half hour virtual tour of the historic region.

Tours will start at Zion Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem and be led by a live tour guide. Here, viewers will meander through winding streets and alleyways as they visit the Sephardic Synagogues, the Roman Cardo, the Broad Wall, and the Hurva Synagogue. Stockholm, Sweden

On your tour, you’ll experience the window displays department store NK and see the Parliament, Royal Palace, Royal Opera, Stortorget when the Nobel Prize Museum is located, as well as the Lutheran cathedral of Stockholm, a runestone from the Viking Age, and the hidden Ironboy artwork.

Up to 10 people can watch the virtual tour, which costs $120.

Salzburg, Vienna

Visit historic Vienna with a one hour and 30-minute virtual tour of Salzburg this holiday season. Here, you’ll be delighted to the history and traditions of the city as you walk the Christmas market. You’ll find out why the song “Silent Night, Holy Night” comes from Salzburg and how it came to be a song of the world.

There will also be a quiz about Christmas in Austria as well as a sing-along with a local musician. The local tour guide will also take your questions before the tour ends.

The tour can be booked for up to five people and costs $189.
