Meghan Markle’s had quite the year and a half, from going public as Prince Harry’s girlfriend to announcing their engagement to spending Christmas 2017 with the British Royal Family to getting married in May 2018 and, finally, to announcing her pregnancy in October.

Another special occasion she enjoyed during that time period was spending last New Year’s Eve with her then-fiancé, Prince Harry.

How did the two spend the final night of 2017 and welcome in 2018? They reportedly celebrated in France but arrived there shortly before New Year’s Eve.

Markle and Prince Harry allegedly took a British Airways flight to Nice, France and sat all the way at the back of the economy seats; the ones right by the toilets.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex —before they had those titles — gave themselves a little extra room on the flight and had three rows of seats, all to themselves. Well, for them and for a few of their bodyguards. To help them blend in a bit more, Prince Harry reportedly wore a baseball hat, and Markle had on a beanie.

The traveling didn’t stop once they arrived in Nice, though. The Daily Mail reports that the couple then journeyed to Monaco, via private helicopter, to celebrate New Year’s with friends.

Monday will be the former actress and Prince Harry’s first New Year’s Eve as a married couple, and it remains unclear how the two will celebrate the holiday this time around.
