Kate Middleton and Prince William's love story is very different from Prince Charles and Princess Diana's.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may not be as tactile as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, their romance is definitely so much better than that of the Prince and Princess of Wales because it has “all the right ingredients for longevity.”

According to biographer Andrew Morton in his 2011 book “William and Catherine,” Prince Charles and Prince William’s difference was apparent during their engagement announcement. He noticed how the royal father and son are so different when it comes to their fiancée.

“The engagement day illustrated the character differences between father and son,” Morton wrote and highlighted how Prince William and Middleton’s relationship have the right ingredients for longevity and how they are a “couple happy and in love.”

“[It had] none of the metaphysical equivocation that Prince Charles had shown when, in his engagement interview, he was asked about his feelings,” the author continued citing Prince Charles’ infamous response “Whatever in love means” when asked if he loved Princess Diana.

“His son was clear and forthright: ‘We are hugely excited and looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.’”

Prince William and Middleton’s relationship has been tested by time. The couple dated for almost a decade and went through two breakups before Prince William decided to pop the big question.

At present, there are rumors that the second in line to the throne has cheated on his wife with their friend Rose Hanbury. However, an insider revealed that the couple is not splitting. Middleton reportedly confronted her husband about it and the latter just laughed it off because it was not true.

Although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not parting ways, the source said that the rumors have rocked the palace and affected their marriage. Also, Prince William’s lawyers have already denied the rumors and have taken legal actions to stop it. One tabloid reportedly received a legal warning for publishing details of the alleged affair that was “false and highly damaging.”

Here’s a timeline of Prince William and Rose’s alleged affair to understand how it started. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are still seen publicly together and have not shown any signs of a strained marriage.
