Prince Charles may be the future King, but that doesn’t mean he is right about everything. Following a warning from his security team, the Prince of Wales made a decision that reportedly put himself and Camilla Parker Bowles in danger.

In 2010, Prince Charles ignored the advice of his royal security and ended up having a near-death experience alongside his wife, Camilla.

In the 2015 documentary “Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm,” royal editor Andrew Pierce revealed Charles decided to take his normal route, which was riddled with rioters, to a theater in London.

“His security personnel advised him to take a different route but as per usual Prince Charles knew best of course and insisted on going the way he had always gone to the theatre,” Pierce explained.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe noted that the incident could have cost Charles his and Camilla’s lives. “He is saying, you know, well what could go wrong here? It did go wrong and the protection team were virtually powerless to do anything about it.”

According to the documentary, the rioters attacked the car by throwing trash bins and paint cans. At some point, the Duchess of Cornwall was reportedly jabbed in the ribs by someone who rammed a stick through an open car window.

Although both Prince Charles and Camilla could have been suffered far worse consequences, they were eventually able to make it through the protestors and back to safety.
