The days until Christmas are ticking down and children must hurry to send their letters to Santa Claus to get a reply from him in time. Parents who want to help their kids connect with the big man must send the letters, through the various options given below.

1. North Pole: Send a letter to Santa and get one back with a postmark from the North Pole with the help of the United States Postal Service. Ask your child to write a letter to Santa and put it in an envelope addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole. Pen a response from Santa and put it in another envelope with the North Pole return address, your own address and a stamp. Then send it all in an even bigger envelope to North Pole Postmark Postmaster, 4141 Postmark Drive, Anchorage, AK 99530-9998. Make sure that this reaches by Dec. 15 so that you receive a return mail.

2. Macy’s will be inviting people of all ages who believe in Santa Claus to send him letters by dropping it in the big red letterbox at the nearest Macy’s department store. Online and email options are also available at Macys.com/Believe.

3. To send Santa an email, go online to ElfontheShelf.com/kids and click on the box that reads: Write Santa.

4. Letters to Santa can also be sent via Royal Mail to his North Pole address, but the deadline for this ends Dec. 8.

5. An instant message to Santa can be sent using aletter4santa.com. Help them write a letter to Santa that includes whether they've been "good," "very, very good" or "a teeny, tiny bit not so good." Once the message is sent, Santa will send a response immediately with a clip art.

6. The Santa Claus House offers packages that will reach home by Christmas if the order is made before Dec. 10. Describing the letters, the website says, "These personalized letters are filled with more than good wishes from Saint Nick; they're filled with the promise of Christmas, and all its secrets and magic. And, a Santa letter can set many a worried mind at ease, as each reader learns that he or she is, indeed, on Santa's 'good' list! It may sound insignificant to adult ears, but think back: To a child, knowing he or she has the approval of 'the Big Guy' can do amazing things for self-esteem and confidence!"

The website also adds: "Each letter also includes a jumbo sticker, proclaiming the bearer to be on Santa's Good List; an exclusive, keepsake 'Santa Dollar;' and a full-color keepsake photo of Santa. And of course, every Santa letter is stamped with our trademark 'Santa's Official Mail' seal and a genuine North Pole postmark."
