A huge python was found slithering out of a bathroom light at a home in Brisbane, Queensland. The 5-foot-long snake was spotted by two kids who were brushing their teeth before bed Monday.

The youngsters were horrified when they saw the python dangling from the ceiling. Snake catcher Bryce Lockett was called to remove the reptile from the bathroom. Bryce told local media that it was unusual the snake had managed to sneak through the light fitting.

“I’ve been catching snakes for about seven years now, I’ve seen them all in various situations," Lockett said, according to U.K.'s the Sun. “People are generally quite terrified of them but I’ve owned snakes my whole life so I’m not too fazed... Carpet pythons are nocturnal and coldblooded, which is why this one must have slithered down to enjoy the heat of the lamp - they’re harmless but they don’t like to be disturbed.”

Photos of the snake hanging from the light fixture were shared online, with people expressing their horror. Bryce said the snake was caught and later released into a nearby creek.

Late last month, a massive carpet python greeted some people playing a game of pool at a home in Beachmere, north of Brisbane. Brisbane Snake Catchers arrived at the resident to retrieve the python found in a corner pocket of the pool table.

“When you’re having a casual game of pool with your mates and this snake pops up to greet you with a cheeky grin,” the snake-catching service captioned a photo on its Facebook page. “Make sure you check your pool table pockets before sticking your hand in.”

Snake experts said it is likely the snake was seeking a warm and confined space to relax in.
