Lou Ferrigno, the actor who played the Incredible Hulk, may soon head President Donald Trump's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

In an interview with Daily Mail, 65-year-old Ferrigno said he would love to head the council. Ferrigno, who played the Hulk on the CBS television show, met Trump on the set of Celebrity Apprentice in 2012. Ferrigno is a former bodybuilder and Mr. Universe.

"I have been corresponding with President Trump because I want to change America and make America healthy again. I am a top choice for them. I feel I am the best candidate for that," Ferrigno said. "Nobody can surpass what I do, especially the life I have lived, what I have overcome and my passion with bodybuilding and fitness."

The President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN) falls under the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. It was created in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower.

"PCFSN engages, educates, and empowers all Americans to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity and good nutrition," reads the PCFSN website. "Since 1956, the Council has created and promoted programs and initiatives that motivate people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to be active and eat healthy."

Ferrigno, an active Trump supporter, spoke in favor of the president when describing his ideas for how he would run the Council.

"I would focus on explaining to everyone, some people may have some physical handicaps or maybe injured knees, there are so many different machines and better ways to eat, and it is all about combining the mind and the body together," Ferrigno said. "If you can do that anybody can get in shape. It is all about changing from lazy to positive leverage."

The current Acting Executive Director of the Council is Don Wright, who was appointed Executive Director on Nov. 1, 2016. The Council utilizes many programs — such as the Presidential Champions, Presidential Youth Fitness Program and Council Awards — to motivate people to maintain healthy and fit lifestyles.

President Trump, himself, is not a fan of exercise. According to actuarial data, he was predicted to live 15 more years.

"He is an educated man and I did the Celebrity Apprentice with him. He is a great man who cares about his family," Ferrigno said about President Trump. "I really think there is no dark side to Donald Trump, but I think he is going through a hard time now to shake up the country."

"Like I said we are dealing with a lot of problems with homeland security and a lot of attacks, especially with North Korea, I feel safe with him," he added. "Think about this, that man was never in politics, but from the first debate he became the President. He didn't make the people vote for him, people wanted him because they believed in him."
