With Hurricane Matthew inching its way toward the shores of the United States, travelers may be wise to make sure that their flights won’t be impacted by the storm. After wreaking havoc in the Caribbean, Matthew will be right off of the coast of Eastern Florida Thursday night or early Friday morning as a Category 4 storm and will continue on up along the coastline until it reaches North Carolina Sunday as a Category 1 storm.

All four states in its path over the weekend have declared states of emergency. As of Thursday morning, Flight Aware, a flight cancellation and delay tracker, noted 1,133 cancellations scheduled for Friday and just 26 for Saturday.

American Airlines says that travelers impacted by the storm may be able to change their trips with no change fee. See here for more information on changing your flight if you’re going to or through one of these cities:
