HBO’s Season 4 trailer for “Insecure,” teases new drama for the cast, especially between Issa Dee (Issa Rae) and her ex-boyfriend Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis) who is now dating Condola (Christina Elmore).

“Where are your exes?” Rae’s character asks in the trailer. “Let me ride up in on them like you ridin’ up on mine.”

Issa and Lawrence have had a tumultuous on-again-off-again relationship throughout the show's run. “Insecure” started out with a bang as audiences saw Issa deal with the aftermath of cheating on her long-term boyfriend. The two eventually break up, rekindle their love a couple of times, and then move out of their shared apartment in the Season 2 finale, Bustle reported. While Ellis was largely left out of Season 3, it seems Season 4 is hinting at his character making a big splash and more frequent appearances.

HBO’s Season 4 synopsis hints that Lawrence will have to deal with a similar struggle Issa has faced in previous seasons: being pulled in two directions.

“Lawrence figures out what leveling up means for him,” the synopsis reads. “ Along the way, we'll see these characters evaluating relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives.”

The trailer teases not one, but two awkward encounters between Issa, Lawrence and his new girlfriend Condola, who was first introduced last season through Issa’s friend Tiffany (Amanda Seales), Refinery29 reported. It’s a safe bet for fans to assume some drama will take place between the three — or maybe four if Tiffany is included — at some point this season.

However, even with the drama, Issa seems focused on making sure she lives her life on her own terms.

“I'm focused. It's like no job, no man," Issa says in the trailer. "All this sounds bad, but it's actually really good. It's good vibes!"

HBO’s “Insecure” is set for release on April 12 with 10 episodes.
