Following the May 30 launch of her sold-out cosmetic line, YouTuber Jaclyn Hill has finally addressed the concerns and criticisms consumers have expressed about the alleged mold and other product defects found in her lipstick line.

Hill discovered the quality issue with her lipsticks after her fans took to social media with their disappointment. Photos of the lipstick showed holes, plastic particles, or mysterious fibers that looked like hairs. While other consumers of the lipstick were unhappy with the lipsticks’ softness or crumbly consistency, some even wondered if the lipsticks were expired.

She said to her fans in a 14-minute YouTube video, "I want to address some of the issues that my customers are having with my first launch of my brand, Jaclyn Cosmetics, and my lipsticks.

"I'm not gonna run away from this. I know it's taken me a couple days to get all my ducks in a row and get this video out for you guys, but I have been going through all the documentation, and on the phone with labs and chemists and the owner of my lab and my entire team for several days, and doing a very in-depth investigation to figure out exactly what's going on so I can give you the most informed information as a brand owner."

Hill went on to explain to fans that the lipstick is not moldy or hazardous to use “in any way shape or form.” Hill even went so far to show her fans the lab analysis reports and hygiene policy statements from the company that produces the lipstick for her. She also assured her viewers that her lipsticks are “new and FDA approved.”

According to Hill, the lipsticks had black dots on them because they were oxygen bubbles that lifted to the surface during the cooling process. "Sometimes they don't make it all the way through -- it is oxygen and 100% safe,” she said.

Hill previously clarified the fibers that looked like hairs in a tweet saying they were caused by the gloves used in the laboratory, which she is no longer working with.

"My lab used white cotton gloves...they were cleaning vats with a towel,” Hill said. “Those two things combined with the white fuzzies coming off of their gloves -- it is so unacceptable."

Hill also assured her fans that she is doing what it takes to make “things right for my customers. This is my first launch, and it's very embarrassing.”

Hill is offering refunds and new products to any of her customers that were not satisfied with the lipstick. She told fans to “Contact the help@jaclyncosmetics.com... show them proof, we will take care of everything for you and make it right."
