Jana Kramer is getting candid about her co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband Mike Caussin following their divorce.

While promoting her latest single "Your Story" Tuesday, Kramer — who shares daughter, Jolie, 6, and son, Jace, 3, with her ex-husband — admitted to Us Weekly that her and Caussin's co-parenting dynamic is "not fabulous" at the moment.

But despite not having the most cordial co-parenting relationship with her ex, the "One Tree Hill" alum, 38, is not too bothered by it.

"It's one of those things where, hopefully in time, we can [get along]," she explained. "We're doing an OK job. I'll just say this: I'm doing my part in what I can do to be a good co-parent, and … he has to deal with his own side of things. If he doesn't want to be good at co-parenting, that's his thing."

The country singer added that she and the former professional football player, 34, "don't engage unless it's for the kids," and she has no problem with that arrangement.

"I honestly wanted [this to go well] so badly, but now I think I'm just OK not having that relationship because I wouldn't really know what is real anyway," the singer-songwriter continued. "I just don't want that energy. Until I can just fully not care, I don't want that around."

Their children spend 30% of their time with their father, who has Jolie and Jace every Wednesday and every other weekend, according to Kramer.

Kramer wed Caussin in May 2015, but last year, she announced that they were going their separate ways. They finalized their divorce in July 2021 after six years of marriage.

Kramer's latest comments come four months after she told Us Weekly that she bites her lip "a lot" while co-parenting with Caussin. She admitted that their situation was "very hard" and that there are days when she doesn't "do it perfectly."

"I was upset and I was like, 'I didn’t want this. I didn't ask for this,'" she said of one recent incident. "My kids [were] crying for him. And I called, and let them obviously FaceTime, but I also was just like, 'This is just so not fair,' you know? Then I have to own it and be like, 'I'm sorry, this is a hard situation.'"

The singer said their children are doing "great" amid the split and "slowly getting better" in terms of having to switch between living with their mom and staying with their dad, but they still have bad days.

"Transition days are tough, but that's to be expected," Kramer explained. "It's hard, but whenever he says call daddy, [I do]. Mike and I have a good relationship and we're doing really well at co-parenting."

Despite some disagreements, Kramer said she and Caussin also agree on several things when it comes to raising their two children. For example, they do not have disputes in front of their kids and she won't say "yes" when he already said "no."

They also agreed not to introduce their dates to their children unless the relationship becomes serious. "Mike and I are really good with that," Kramer previously said.
