Jaybird has announced a new pair of wireless headphones that is intended for users who workout a lot. The new Jaybird Tarah features a very familiar design, but it’s cheaper and it also carries the “Made for Google” certification.

At first glance, the Jaybird Tarah looks a lot like the Jaybird X4, which launched in August. However, the Tarah only costs $99.99, so it is $100 cheaper than the X4. It’s also $50 cheaper than the Beats X. The Jaybird Tarah also comes with a slightly different design than the X4 by having differently shaped buds and its cord isn’t looped at the top of the wearer’s ears.

The Tarah comes with the same specs as the X4. It has an IPx7 waterproof certification, which means it can be submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, according to CNET. This should be more than enough for users who want to keep listening to music while engaging in sweaty workout routines.

“We know a lot of dedicated athletes and fitness fans haven't yet made the switch to wireless headphones,” Jaybird CEO Jamie Parker said. “We designed Jaybird Tarah to be the perfect introduction to going wireless - tangle-free and easy-to-use while delivering on the Jaybird fundamentals: sweat- and waterproof, a secure and comfortable sport fit, incredible sound with customizable EQ settings through the Jaybird app, and great battery life. Once people try Tarah, it will become an essential part of their training gear.”

The Jaybird Tarah also comes with a set of new tips and fins, so users can find the most comfortable and secure fit possible. Jaybird’s Speed Clinch cord management system also returns and it allows users to adjust the length of the cable that sits on the back of the wearer’s neck.

Like the X4, the Tarah comes with fast charging support. Jaybird claims that a 10-minute charge will provide users with an hour of battery life. The Jaybird Tarah is able to offer up to six hours of battery life on a single charge. That may be enough for a lot of users, but it’s important to note that the X4 is able to offer up to eight hours of battery life.

The feature that makes the Tarah stand out from Jaybird’s other wireless sport headphones is that it comes with an official “Made for Google” certification. This means that the Tarah will work perfectly with Google’s own products, like its Pixel Android smartphones, as pointed out by 9To5Google. The Tarah supports Google Assistant, which can be triggered by a push of a button. iPhone users will also be able to call on Siri using the Tarah wireless sport headphones.

The Jaybird Tarah is now available to order from Jaybird’s website and it will start shipping sometime in October.
