Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have a “flirtatious” connection but share a “purely platonic” relationship.

Pitt and Aniston got married in 2000 and divorced five years later. Pitt started dating Angelina Jolie and they got married in 2014 but announced their separation in September 2016. Meanwhile, Aniston dated Justin Theroux. They got married in 2015 but separated two years later.

Pitt and Aniston’s fans are hoping that they will get back together now that both are single again. An insider revealed that the exes have a “flirtatious” connection but the two are just friends.

“Brad and Jen have a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times,” a source told Us Weekly. “They dig each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that.”

It wasn’t a secret that Aniston was hurt following their separation especially when Pitt was spotted frolicking at the beach with Jolie and her son Maddox shortly after their split. Previous reports claimed that the “Murder Mystery” actress threw Pitt out on their last holiday as a married couple because the “Ad Astra” actor confessed his feelings for Jolie to his then-wife.

However, their ill feelings toward each other had long passed. Earlier this year, Pitt was spotted attending Aniston’s 50th birthday bash. And just recently, they reunited again at Aniston’s holiday party at her Bel-Air home.

An insider told Entertainment Tonight that Pitt was among the first to arrive and was the second-to-the-last person to leave Aniston’s property. He was spotted arriving with his longtime security guard.

Pitt and Aniston are expected to reunite at the Golden Globe Awards in 2020. Some fans said that their reunion will be awkward. However, several insiders claimed that it will not be uncomfortable because they are good friends now.

A different source even said that they have been in touch for the last few years and they talk occasionally. If they were to run into each other, they would congratulate one another with pleasantries.

“They don’t talk often but when they do its very warm and positive. It’s not as big of a deal to them as it is to everyone around them,” a source told E! News.
