As the search for missing Connecticut mom, Jennifer Dulos, enters its fourth week since her disappearance, investigators have reportedly deemed the case a murder. Jennifer’s estranged husband and his girlfriend were taken into custody and released on a $500,000 bond in connection with her disappearance. As investigators continue their search for Jennifer, here’s a breakdown of the events of the case.

The Morning Of May 24

At 8 a.m. on May 24, Jennifer was last seen dropping her children off at school, where she would then head to New York City for at least two appointments, the Hartford Courant reported. According to the news outlet, Jennifer never showed up in New York for those appointments and has since been missing.

Investigators believe around 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jennifer was the victim of an alleged attack within her home. They found blood stains in the garage of her home as well as on a vehicle.

At around 12 p.m. that day, Jennifer’s housekeeper entered the home but didn’t go into the garage or notice anything out of place, the Courant reported.

Investigators also found blood on the faucet of Jennifer’s kitchen that had both her and her estranged husband, Fortis Dulos’ DNA mixed together.

The Evening Of May 24

Investigators receive a report that Jennifer is missing. They find her vehicle at a nearby park and search her home, where they find the blood stains. Video footage of Fortis and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, allegedly throwing trash bags in at least 30 dumpsters in Hartford, where blood stained towels and sponges are found with Jennifer’s DNA on them is revealed.

Dulos is also seen dropping a FedEx box into a storm sewer, which police retrieved and had two altered Connecticut license plates in it, which came from a Chevy Suburban registered to Fortis, the Hartford Courant reported. Fortis arrived home at 8:10 p.m. that evening.

Police obtain a search warrant for the Fortis' property and also extend their search to an area landfill. Troconis is cooperating with investigators and has provided information in the case.

Known Suspects In The Case

Fotis and Troconis, were charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. They have been released on $500,000 bond.

Fortis’ lawyer, Norm Pattis, said in court that his client was not in New Canaan, Connecticut, when the attack allegedly occurred against Jennifer and can account for his time that day. Foris and Jennifer were embroiled in a custody battle over their five children.

Troconis allegedly has an alibi for her whereabouts on May 24, as she delivered a purse to a friend in the morning, and visited another friend that same day, at the time investigators believe Jennifer was attacked, the news outlet said.

An employee of Fortis’ Fore Realty Group was also in New Canaan on May 24, who investigators have seized his truck, computer, and cellphone, according to the Courant. He is cooperating with authorities in the case.

Both Fortis and Troconis have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Fortis has a court date scheduled for Aug. 2 while Troconis will appear in court on July 18.
