Vice President Joe Biden has managed to do something that most 72-year-olds with pure white hair aren't necessarily able to do: He's become a hip topic of conversation on social media. That's partly thanks to the satirical news site the Onion, which loves to make up off-the-wall stuff about the vice president, but a fair amount of that image is sincere. Sometimes he goes off script, and it can be hilarious.

Biden announced that he wouldn't be running for president Wednesday, and his announcement has bigger ramifications than its impact on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary. The potential to have one of the coolest -- albeit, perhaps one of the most unlikely to be cool -- presidents in modern history also went out the door.

He'll still be in office for the next 15 months, which gives him plenty of time to make new gaffes and plenty of time for the Reddit and Twitter communities to jump on seemingly innocent photos of him looking out windows and post them on Twitter with captions speculating as to what he may be thinking. In honor of the vice president, below are some of his best quotes and some of the best memes fans have made.

"I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places right now. It's not that it's going to Mexico, it's that you are in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes, it goes everywhere through the aircraft. That's me." -Biden said this on NBC's Today show in April 2009 when asked what he would tell relatives about swine flu if they were thinking of taking a trip to Mexico. The White House later apologized for any undue alarm the remarks may have caused.

In the Biden window meme, users imagined what Biden may have been thinking at the time this photo was being taken. The photo was seeming innocuous, but that didn't stop the Internet from thinking that maybe Biden was waiting for the president to get home so they could watch anime or wondering whether Adnan Syed of the popular podcast Serial did actually commit the crime he was convicted of.

"If I blindfolded someone and took them at 2 o'clock in the morning into the airport in Hong Kong and said 'where do you think you are?' They would say, 'this must be America. This is a modern airport. If I took them blindfolded and took them to LaGuardia Airport in New York, he would, like, 'I must be in some Third World country.' I'm not joking." -Biden said this in February 2014 in the presence of New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio.

"This is a big f------ deal." -Biden made these remarks, seen in the video above, just before President Barack Obama signed into law his signature healthcare reform law, the Affordable Care Act.

"They should know we will follow them to the gates of hell until they are brought to justice. Because hell is where they will reside."- Biden made this botched attempt to threaten the Islamic State group in September 2014.

"Ain't that a b----? I mean -- excuse me, the vice president thing? I mean, whoa. How do you feel about it now?" - When a student at Harvard University in Boston introduced themselves to Biden as the vice president of the student body, Biden related to the title.
