John Mayer made a blunt comment about Jennifer Aniston following their split.

Mayer and Aniston dated from 2008 to 2009. The “Cake” star is very private, but the singer shared some details about their relationship in an interview with Playboy after their split, and he hinted that their separation was due to Aniston being eight years his senior.

“I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last,” Mayer said. “In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.”

“If Jennifer Aniston knows how to use BitTorrent (an online file sharing platform), I’ll eat my fucking shoe,” he added.

He added that another significant difference between them was that he was tweeting. He addressed the rumors that he was dumped because he was tweeting too much. He denied it and said that there was just a “big difference.”

“The brunt of her success came before TMZ and Twitter. I think she’s still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction.”

Mayer’s nasty dig at Aniston has resurfaced amid rumors that Aniston is back with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. In 2018, Aniston and Justin Theroux announced that they had decided to go on separate ways.

In 2016, Angelina Jolie and Pitt also announced their split. When Aniston became single, fans were hoping that she would get back with Pitt and despite their denials, rumors romantically linking them continue to this day.

There were claims that Pitt and Aniston had a secret weekend getaway. Aniston and Pitt reportedly stayed on his beach house in Santa Barbara, California.

An insider alleged that ever since Pitt showed up at Aniston’s 50th birthday bash in February, the pair had been meeting up. They reportedly wanted to date like any normal couple but couldn’t do so because people would recognize them.

There were also rumors that they wed on his backyard. However, Pitt and Aniston’s fans should take those reports with a grain of salt because according to their reps, they are just friends and are not back together.
