Johnny Depp is reportedly dating U.K.-based lawyer Joelle Rich, who represented him in his libel lawsuit against a newspaper in 2018, and Twitter is happy about it.

Social media users are excited that Depp has found new love after winning the defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

"I am happy for them. The rule about dating former clients in the USA: it's ethical 'once the initial attorney-client relationship has been terminated;' then it's fair game. In the UK it's even more relaxed: 'As long as there is no conflict of interest,'" a Twitter user wrote.

Another social media user agreed and tweeted, "As long as he/they aren't the reason for her divorce. I hate seeing relationships end because someone else entered the picture."

"I don't care who Johnny Depp is dating, it's no one's business how he lives his life, as long as he is healthy and happy that's all that matters," another person said.

Rich represented Depp in his libel case against The Sun for a 2018 article that referred to him as a "wife beater." The court upheld the outlet's claims as being "substantially true" and Heard had testified to back up the claims, People reported. Depp lost the case in November 2020. His attempt to overturn the decision also failed.

Though she was not part of his legal team for the defamation case against Heard in Fairfax County, Virginia, Rich was reportedly present in the courtroom to show her "support" to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor. She was seen with Depp outside the courthouse and was spotted hugging Depp's other lawyer, Camille Vasquez, inside the courtroom in May, the outlet said.

Despite the buzz, some Depp supporters are not convinced it is true.

"Can we believe this? If so I hope he's happy," one person tweeted and another replied, "Agreed. I'm treating any such news as gossip until either of the supposed couple confirms it. Wishing him the best."

An insider told Us Weekly that Depp and Rich's chemistry is "off the charts."

"It's serious between them. They are the real deal," the insider said.

However, another person close to the couple told People that "They are dating but it's not serious."
