KEY POINTS

  • "Jump Force" is adding "My Hero Academia" character Shoto Todoroki to its lineup of fighters
  • Shoto Todoroki will be available for all on May 26
  • Players can get an early access, however, through the Character Pass 2

The long wait is over. “Jump Force” fans looking to play one of the most powerful characters in the popular manga “My Hero Academia” can finally do so this May.

Shoto Todoroki, the beloved “My Hero” protagonist who holds the power to unleash both ice and fire, will be coming to “Jump Force” this May 26 as a downloadable character.

Bandai Namco made the announcement on Twitter, noting that players can also get early access to the character on May 22 by purchasing the Character Pass 2.

For what it’s worth, the Character Pass 2 costs $17.99, though it will allow gamers to unlock five DLC characters earlier. However, for those who want to purchase the character individually, they can do so for $3.99.

Aside from the reveal of the release date, Bandai Namco also posted screenshots of Todoroki in action, highlighting his attacks using his blazing fire and mounds of ice.

For the uninitiated, “Jump Force” is a crossover fighting game wherein players can fight using characters featured from various manga series in the Weekly Shonen Jump. So far, there are playable characters from popular mangas such as “Bleach,” “Naruto,” “One Piece,” “Hunter x Hunter,” “Dragon Ball Z,” and “My Hero Academia” to name a few.

With that said, the addition of Todoroki is certainly exciting for fans, especially with his ability to control the fire and ice element. Playing his character will certainly produce a deadly combo that will be fun to use in the game.

Also, to recall, Bandai Namco unveiled Todoroki’s character last April – though no release date was given at the time. In the said teaser posted by the Japanese game developer and publisher, the Half-Hot Half-Cold hero can be seen showing the full extent of his power.

This is certainly an exciting development for fans of the game, and it sure looks like Bandai Namco is not slowing down as it produces more content and updates for ‘Jump Force.”

Interestingly, the Japanese tech giant is also expanding the game after announcing last April that it will be bringing “Jump Force: Deluxe Edition” to Nintendo Switch.

Jump Force is currently playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
