Director Colin Trevorrow has released plot spoilers about the fourth "Jurassic Park" movie, "Jurassic World." Universal

It’s really happening…

The highly anticipated fourth “Jurassic Park” installment is slated to hit theaters in June 2015, and director Colin Trevorrow has dished out many of the plot spoilers about which everyone has been speculating.

“Jurassic Park 4” has supposedly been in the works since before 2007. And insane plot rumors have had fans going crazy for years. How insane are we talking? Two rumored plot lines for the fourth movie involved “genetically engineered human-dinosaur hybrids” and dinosaurs trained by the government to carry weapons. Needless to say, fans of the first Steven Spielberg film were not happy.

In September 2013, Universal announced that the title would be “Jurassic World” and that the movie would be pushed to June 2015 from its initial June 2014 release date. The movie has encountered its fair share of problems along the way, including some stop-and-go production and leaked spoilers. But Trevorrow is taking an interesting approach to handling the small setbacks – by confirming all the plot details!

After JoBlo.com released some plot details regarding “Jurassic World,” Trevorrow spoke with Slash Film about the facts regarding his upcoming movie.

“’Jurassic World’ takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar,” Trevorrow revealed to Slash Film. “It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of biological preserve, a safari, a zoo and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible. It’s the realization of John Hammond’s dream, and I think you’ll want to go there.”

“Jurassic World” will be picking up 22 years after “Jurassic Park,” which was released in 1993. Because of the time leap, the fourth installment will play off of our society’s obsession with technology and making more money.

“Those two ideas felt like they could work together,” he explained about money and the way that we’ve come to take technology for granted. “What if, despite previous disasters, they built a new biological preserve where you could see dinosaurs walk the earth … and what if people were already kind of over it? We imagined if a teenager is texting his girlfriend with his back to a T-Rex behind protective glass.”

According to the director, the idea for the movie is “What else you got?” And in this case, the people at the park will get a new dinosaur created by geneticists at the park. But don’t expect some kind of Syfy “Sharktopus” or “Piranhaconda.”

“This animal is not a mutant freak,” Trevorrow assured fans. “It doesn’t have a snake’s head or octopus tentacles. It’s a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it’s a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film.”

So, what else did the director dish? Actor Chris Pratt’s character will be doing behavioral research on raptors!

Colin Trevorrow co-wrote the screenplay for “Jurassic World” with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg is on board as an executive producer, with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley producing. The movie is slated to hit theaters in June 2015.
