The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber as it allowed them to take a step back and focus on their relationship.

Bieber is opening up about his personal life in an upcoming YouTube Originals documentary titled "Justin Bieber: Next Chapter," in which he discusses marriage, music, relationships and connecting with fans.

"Tour's canceled and I had to adapt to that," he said in a sneak peek of the documentary. "It allowed us to take a step back and focus on each other. That was a beautiful thing. And that turned into working on an album."

Bieber said something similar during a virtual panel discussion for PaleyFest LA, where he revealed that the pandemic helped him and his wife connect on a deeper level.

"We're still pretty newly married. I mean, we'll celebrate two years in September," he said. "We've just been enjoying our time together and getting to know each other deeper."

Both Bieber and Baldwin are practicing Christians, and religion played a big part in bringing them together.

The trailer also showed Bieber talking about previous relationships and the pain he felt when past romances did not work out.

"There's a lot more confidence in my relationships [now]," Bieber said.

Although he does not specify names in the trailer, it’s speculated that he was talking about his relationship with Selena Gomez that had been on and off for years. The pair dated between late 2010 and early 2018.

Talking about the hurt he felt in his past relationships, Bieber said that he would “rather get away than to be in this cycle.”

"Now I just have hope in my relationship with God," he continued. "That's not based on fear, that's not based on my past. It's based on who I truly am."

This is not the first time Bieber and Baldwin have given fans a glimpse into their private lives.

Bieber’s previous YouTube docuseries, "Seasons," focused on the recording of his most recent album, "Changes."

"Justin Bieber: Next Chapter" premieres Friday at 12 p.m. EDT on his official YouTube channel.
