Kate Middleton broke the royal tradition by taking photos of her kids.

The Duchess of Cambridge confessed that she’s an amateur photographer. Shortly after giving birth to Prince George, she decided to take official photos of her son and shared it to the world. Since then, Middleton made it a habit and she did the same to Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

According to Rachel Russell of Express, Middleton broke a royal tradition by doing so. Royals used to pay a professional photographer to do the job for them.

On Prince Louis’ birthday last April, Middleton released photos of her youngest son to celebrate his first birthday. In the snaps, Prince Louis looks so adorable.

Middleton also did the same for Princess Charlotte’s fourth birthday that took place just days after Prince Louis’. Here are some of Middleton’s best shots of her kids.

According to Gina Jones from Bumpkins, The Baby Show’s lead experts in baby photography, there’s a shocking reason why Middleton opted to take her children’s photos. She pointed out that the Duchess of Cambridge is doing it for practical reasons because she wanted to be “resourceful with money.“

“It shows how modern Kate and William are by being more accessible and having a hands-on approach,” Jones said.

“It also shows that they are resourceful with money as you often see Kate in high street fashion and sometimes repeating outfits and so by taking her own photos this again shows how she is savvy with money.”

Middleton is known for her practicality in contrast to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex has been slammed for her expensive wardrobe. Just recently, she stepped out wearing a $1,035 A-line dress by Stella McCartney and paired it with a $737 Aquazzura fashionable flats.

According to a recent report, Markle’s overspending offends the Queen who is known for her frugal lifestyle. Angela Levin encouraged the Duchess of Sussex to follow Middleton’s example. She pointed out how the future queen lets her kids wear hand-me-downs.
