Kate Middleton and Prince William’s royal wedding photoshoot was followed by an “ugly scramble.”

In 2011, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge exchanged “I do’s” in a fairytale ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Prince William and Middleton also followed the royal tradition of sharing a kiss on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

According to the 2012 documentary "Kate and William: The First Year," however, what happened next was chaos. The couple was rushed inside for the traditional photoshoot with their bridesmaids and page boys. It was at that point when the “ugly scramble” happened. The children were difficult to control, so they think of ways to bribe them so they would behave accordingly.

“I felt that jelly beans was probably a suitable bribe [ to get the children on my side],” Burnand recalled.

“We showed them the jelly beans and said 'right we have got the jelly beans and they are for you [but] we have got to do the job first,” the royal photographer continued. “There was a bit of an ugly scramble for the jelly beans after the shoot. There is no doubt about that.”

Camilla Parker Bowles also shared how Prince Harry did his part to make the children behave. According to the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke of Sussex brought a “wiggly worm” out his pocket in the carriage to keep the little bridesmaids and page boys amused.

Camilla’s granddaughter, Eliza, was so amused that she wouldn’t let go of the toy. In fact, Prince Harry’s wiggly worm made it into Prince William and Middleton’s official royal photographs.

One shot featured Eliza holding on to Camilla’s hand and in her other hand was a pink item, which according to the duchess was the worm.

Prince Harry was Prince William’s best man on his big day, and he did all he could to make the event special for his big brother. According to Katie Nicholl in her 2017 biography “ Harry: Life, Loss, and Lov,” Prince Harry surprised the bride and groom by arranging a short drive back to Clarence House in his father’s beloved open-topped Aston Martin Volante.

Prince William and Middleton were shocked and delighted when they saw the car decked out in balloons, red white and blue streamers with a JU5T WED number plate.
