Kim Kardashian, multi-hyphenate and beauty mogul, continued to bend the normal this week of what is traditionally appropriate attire for public appearances. While no stranger to nudity — she has spoken at length about body positivity and owning her sexuality — the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star left little to the imagination Friday after she donned a sheer tank top that bared her nipples.

While out in New York City, Kardashian was pictured Monday in tailored and deconstructed cargo shorts, strappy heels and a sheer black tank top. She paired the look with two delicate gold necklaces and vintage Versace sunglasses. But her sheer top dominated the look as many noted that she opted — as per her wont as of late — to forego wearing a bra.

The mother of two children with husband Kanye West has recently opted for sheer tops and comparatively risqué looks post-baby number two. In the last year, the star has posted considerably about her body positivity and how she owned her sex appeal. The megastar's secret? Her husband, coupled with a desire to set a positive example for her 4-year-old daughter North West. The beauty maven addressed the topic in a blog post last year.

“As North gets older, she'll start to be more aware of herself and her body,” Kardashian wrote, according to MTV News. “Her attitude toward her body is directly related to my own, so it's my responsibility to make sure she understands that positive body image comes from having a healthy self-esteem.”

Kardashian also named her husband as a contributor to her positive body image.

“A big source of my confidence is my husband. I'm my own biggest critic, and Kanye is my biggest supporter,” she wrote. “He always encourages me, and makes me feel confident about owning all my curves and showing them off.”

The blog came just months after Kardashian penned an earlier essay that addressed slut-shaming and damning responses to a nude selfie she shared on Instagram. Most visible of her critics was Chloë Grace Moretz, who took to Twitter in March of last year to castigate the reality star. Just before last year’s International Women’s Day, Kardashian released the lengthy essay on her website.

“I feel so lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong, driven, independent women,” she wrote. “The life lessons I've learned from my sisters, my mother and my grandmother, I will pass along to my daughter. I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to be comfortable in her body. I don't want her to grow up in a world where she is made to feel less-than for embracing everything it means to be a woman.”

“The body-shaming and slut-shaming — it's like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me,” she added. “I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.”
