Officials found the plane on fire in a field, property owned by Tracy Boles, who could hear the crash.

“I was in my living room, and I have a huge window,” Boles said. “Out of my front window, I can see the airstrip, my driveway and the corn field that it crashed in. ... It literally rocked my house. It was like an explosion that went off. ... And I jumped up and went outside. At that time, ... the fuel that was burning was already smoldering out of the field.”

A witness told WTHR that the plane was seen hitting a utility pole before it crashed.

Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash. The FAA says the plane was a single-engine Piper PA-32 and four people were on board, Fox 59 reports.

The names and ages of the victims will not be released until their families are notified of the aviation accident.

In August, an emergency landing in Los Angeles was lucky to have no fatalities. A Boeing 767-300, which FedEx was using for deliveries, had a landing gear that didn’t deploy. The aircraft managed to make a safe landing despite the incident.
