KEY POINTS

  • Uhtred may go back to Bebbanburg in "The Last Kingdom" Season 4
  • He will have to fight his uncle to get his lands back
  • There may be some massive battles for Bebbanburg

“The Last Kingdom” Season 4 will be released next month, and the plot is expected take Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) back to Bebbanburg. After helping Alfred (David Dawson) with his dream to build England, the Dane will go back to claim what rightfully belongs to him.

The producers haven’t yet revealed what the plot of the next season will be about, but the picture of Bebbanburg in the background is unmistakable in a promo poster of the next season. Uhtred will have tough battle against his uncle to get back his lands, and it appears that he will be taking a sea route to launch his attack.

Uhtred will have little to do in Wessex after Alfred’s death. The young and inexperienced king Edward (Timothy Innes) may rely on his mother Aelswith (Eliza Butterworth) for advice, and she has never liked Uhtred.

A few behind-the-scenes pictures of Aelswith have been released online, and they show the queen mother to be just as calm and composed as before. With Wessex relatively secure in “The Last Kingdom” Season 4, Uhtred may shift his focus on some personal matters.

Uhtred has always wanted to go back to Bebbanburg to reclaim his lands from his uncle Aelfric (Joseph Millson), and he may finally get that chance this year. Aelfric has been ruling the lands for many years, but he knows his nephew will come to claim them some day.

In a previous interview with Winter Is Coming, Millson confirmed that his character will meet a “long lost family member.” The actor teased some “monster battle scene days” that he was involved in, where he also got injured. While he didn’t share any plot details, it looks like Aelfric will meet his nephew this year and the two of them will go to war.

“The Last Kingdom” Season 4 will be released on April 26 on Netflix.
