‘Lethal Weapon’ Season 2 Spoilers: ‘Shadowhunters’ Actress Alisha Wainwright To Guest Star

“Shadowhunters” actress Alisha Wainwright has landed a guest-starring role on Fox’s “Lethal Weapon.”

Wainwright will appear as Bailey’s (Michelle Mitchenor) sister, Jess, in next week’s Season 2, episode 14 of the buddy cop series. According to the synopsis for the hour, Bailey must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect her family after Jess runs into trouble with the law.

In the trailer for the episode, Bailey, Riggs (Clayne Crawford), Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) and Bowman (Andrew Creer) are staking out a house where Jess is seen inside with several men. When the guys inside the property notice the presence of the cops, a shootout between the two parties ensues.

Elsewhere in the episode, Murtaugh is left to help Riana (Chandler Kinney) navigate boy problem when Trish (Keesha Sharp) goes to a company retreat. Also, Riggs deals with the fallout of a night of heavy drinking.

Wainwright currently plays Maia Roberts on Freeform’s “Shadowhunters.” The young actress also appeared in episodes of ABC Family’s “Switched at Birth,” TNT’s “Major Crimes” and ABC’s “General Hospital,” among many others.

In addition to Wainwright, also guest starring in the episode are Graham Miller as Gary, Alex Miller as Larry/Steve, Peter Banifaz as cab driver Fred, and Audrey Wasilewski as Helen.

The hour is the first Bailey-centered episode of the series. While on the red carpet at the Fox Emmys after-party last September, Mitchenor told Mingle Media TV that fans are going to know more about her character’s personal life in the current season.

“We’ll get to see more of her personal life which is gonna be fun,” the actress said of her character. “Because in the first season, Bailey was very much just like the straight character, very focused and helping the guys do what they do. [In Season 2, viewers will get] “a little bit more” [of her backstory]. I don’t want to give too much away but I’m excited for everyone to just see more of her outside of her serious cop detective [image].”

“Lethal Weapon” Season 2, episode 14, titled “Double Shot of Baileys,” airs on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
