Dr. Mehmet Oz on Monday performed life-saving measures on a man who collapsed at a New York-area airport.

The celebrity doctor, who has been a fixture on daytime television for many years, was with his family at the Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey, where he performed CPR on a 60-year- old Newark Port Authority police officer.

Dr. Oz then shared the proper way to perform CPR to his 3.9 million Twitter followers.

Dr. Oz, a Cleveland native who graduated from Harvard University, has been a visible television personality since 2003 and gained fame for the “The Dr. Oz Show.”

He was first a cardiovascular surgeon before appearing on television with Oprah Winfrey, who helped propel his media career.

While a public figure's wealth is difficult to gauge due to undisclosed assets and liabilities, Dr. Oz's net worth has been estimated at $100 million by Celebrity Net Worth.

He has taught at Columbia University and has had his own primetime show since 2009. Dr. Oz has also written many popular books.

His eight books that have become New York bestsellers include, "Food Can Fix It," "YOU: The Owner's Manual," "YOU: The Smart Patient," "YOU: On a Diet," "YOU: Staying Young" and “Healing from the Heart.”

Dr. Oz has been accused of endorsing unapproved products and following non-scientific and pseudo-science advice.
