‘Lucifer’
How will the real Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) impact Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) life in “Lucifer” Season 3? FOX

“Lucifer” Season 3 could see Lucifer (Tom Ellis) explaining to the real Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer) what exactly happened to her during the time she was overtaken by the spirit of his mom.

In Season 2, Lucifer’s mom, a.k.a. the Goddess of Creation, took over Charlotte’s body. In the months she possessed the mortal’s body, Lucifer introduced Charlotte as his mom even though it was obvious that she didn’t look that much older than him. In the finale, titled “The Good, the Bad and the Crispy,” the Goddess of Creation’s spirit was transported to Heaven by Lucifer himself. As a result, Charlotte woke up in the middle of the beach without any clue why she was there.

TV Line posed one important question that they and the fans want answered in Season 3. How will Lucifer explain to Charlotte that his mom seized her body as a human vessel? By the looks of it, Helfer will still be part of “Lucifer” Season 3, but she will be playing a mom of two young children instead.

Meanwhile, the first few episodes of “Lucifer” Season 3 were written months ago. Episodes 1 to 4 were supposed to be Episodes 19 to 22 of Season 2. However, due to scheduling conflicts, FOX decided to cut four episodes from last season.

In March, co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich told TV Line that all four episodes will be standalone in nature so their removal from Season 2 wouldn’t have an impact in the finale. “We have four episodes at the very end that are going to be completely standalone episodes,” he said.

According to him, one of the four episodes will feature a flashback from the time Lucifer arrived in Los Angeles.

Additionally, the titles for the upcoming four episodes have already been released. Episode 19, which will now be episode 1 for Season 3, is titled “Mr. & Mrs. Mazikeen Smith.” Episode 2 is titled “City of Angels,” while Episodes 3 and 4 have been given the titles “Off the Record” and “Vegas With Some Radish.”

As of late, the premiere date for “Lucifer” Season 3 hasn’t been announced by FOX. But just like in Seasons 1 and 2, the first episode will be released in the fall.
