Mama June Shannon has decided to finally address all the people spreading gossip about her past drug addiction and her problems with her family.

On Saturday, the 41-year-old We TV star took to Instagram to share a message she wrote for haters which read, “Yes I did drugs. Sure did. But I also got clean and turned my life around. Why don’t you gossip about that.”

Mama June continued to slam her critics in the caption of her post, writing, “I’m just going to leave this right her[e] for the haters.” She also used different hashtags to convey that she’s been sober for 16 months now and that she’s feeling blessed as she is living her best life.

The “Mama June: Road to Redemption” star’s post was quickly flooded with supportive messages by her fans and followers, with many of them expressing how proud they were of how Mama June was able to turn her life around.

“Super Proud of you, KEEP SHINING... surround yourself with family & friends and you WILL succeed, sweet girl!!! and how did Gino get to be sooo AWESOME??? He completely did a 180°, and I love it!!!” one wrote.

“I lost my brother to addiction and suicide when he was 24. It’s coming up on 6 years. I applaud anyone who is trying to turn their life around. I wish you and your family the best,” another stated.

“I think the thing that people ‘gossip’ about the most is how your drug use affected your children. I’m happy that you’re sober and working to better your family relationships. Everyone has a past, everyone has made poor decisions. Turning your life in a positive direction is the key. I pray for you and your family,” a third user commented.

Mama June’s post comes a day after she shared her testimonial for Banyan Treatment Centers on her social media account. In the video she uploaded, she spoke candidly about how she was first exposed to drugs at an early age and how this affected her.

“I was around drugs all my life. My sister was on pills. Her husband sold dope,” she said before noting that it was not her boyfriend, Geno Doak, who influenced her into using drugs because she was already struggling with substance abuse way before she met her.

Now that she’s sober, Mama June said she’s focused on helping other people who may be struggling with the same issue. She added that she is also determined to work on herself and reconnect with her children.
