A man in the U.K claimed that he has been bitten more than 100 times by false widow spiders that infested his home. The 55-year-old struggling with the horrific ordeal for more than two years said he has moved to a tent since his flat owners refused to fumigate the house.

Russell Davies was homeless before he moved into a flat in Kent, in southeastern England, in 2020. Davies, who works as a chef, said he noticed sores all over his body within a week after he moved in, Lad Bible reported.

Davies initially thought the unusual bite marks were due to an adverse skin reaction to the treatment he was undergoing for eczema. Although Davies found around 12 female spiders and roughly 10 males moving around his flat, he did not initially suspect that they caused his skin condition.

However, when Davies looked up pictures of the false widow spiders on the internet, they looked exactly like the spiders at his apartment and the pictures of their bite mark matched his skin sores.

After Davies found out the real culprits behind his skin sores nine months back, he requested Clarion Housing Association, the flat owners, to fumigate them. However, they refused to take up the process claiming that it was Davies' responsibility to deal with the infestation.

Since then, Davies has been on a hunt trying to track down the eight-legged insects in his apartment during the daytime. He has been sleeping in a tent at night fearing he would get bitten.

"I've been sleeping in a tent for roughly a week and a half. In the daytime, I'm walking around looking for things. My mind is constantly on edge because I'm looking for a web, spiders. I don't want to live like this," Davies said.

The bite of a false widow spider is often compared to a wasp sting and is the most venomous spider found in Britain. "I'm in pain. It feels like when I shiver that I've got shards of glass in every part of my body where I've been bitten," Davies said, as reported by BBC.

"It is so painful around my waist, my arms, cheeks, legs, chest, earlobes, the back of my neck, and my face. The worst one was actually on my lip, where they bit me three times," he added.
