“Suicide Squad” star Margot Robbie opened up about what it’s like to portray the supervillain Harley Quinn during an interview with Cineplex on Monday. The Australian actress said Harley embodies her aspirations.

"Harley is creepy, violent, crazy -- all of the things that I aspire to be!" the star, 25, joked. "No. It's the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life."

The blonde bombshell added she relished working again with Will Smith, who plays Deadshot in the DC Comics flick. The two previously worked together on the film “Focus.” "I enjoyed working with Will so, so much that I was overjoyed when I heard that we would be working together again," she said. "He obviously signed on for his own reasons, but I was so incredibly happy that we got to do Round Two. He's awesome on set and awesome off set."

The line between art and life blurred for Robbie when castmate Jared Leto sent her a gift from his character, the Joker. She received a pet rat, which she named “Rat Rat.” Normally, Robbie wouldn’t be thrilled with this type of present, but she decided to keep it because it was something Harley Quinn would treasure. “If Harley got something from Joker, she'd probably cherish it,” she told Elle Magazine in July. Robbie feeds the rat organic berries from Whole Foods.

It’s more than six months until the film opens, but Robbie is worried about the result. "I guess it's intimidating because there's obviously a lot of people I want to please, and a character I have to do justice," Robbie told MTV News about the film last year. "But it's a challenge, I'm definitely up for it, and hopefully I don't disappoint."

“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer, will arrive in theaters Aug. 5.
