Last week’s “Married At First Sight” ended on a cliffhanger when Mia was detained at the airport due to a warrant that was out for her arrest. Season 7, episode 4 explained why she was prevented from leaving the country while another couple had sex for the first time on the honeymoon.

Tristan and Mia

Tristan can’t get any information about his new wife, so he goes back to his hotel. He maintains that he wants to stand by his wife, despite not even knowing why she was arrested. The production team is confused as well.

After 18 hours, no one has any answers. Tristan is scared for his wife, and Eric Detwiller, a “Married at First Sight” producer, speaks directly with the new husband. Eric says the warrant for Mia’s arrest didn’t show up on their background checks. They found the warrant now, though. It was filed the day after their background check.

Before Eric shows Tristan the charges, he reminds the newlywed that there are two sides to every story. Eric says he’ll support Tristan in whatever he wants to do, though.

Tristan opens the packet and looks shocked to find that there were three counts of stalking and one count of credit card fraud on the police report. “It’s a bit overwhelming,” he tells the cameras.

Tristan immediately has a Skype session with Dr. Jessica Griffin. He calls the report “troubling.” He didn’t expect the stranger he married to be someone who stalked her ex-boyfriend.

Dr. Jessica says the behavior described in the report doesn’t match up with the person they talked to extensively before matching her with Tristan. For his part, Tristan says he understands that Mia’s accuser could be painting a different picture of their relationship than what actually happened. He still needs to hear from his wife.

Mia is released after two days in custody. She claims that her car and her personal information were stolen, and someone else committed the crimes she was charged with. It was identity theft, so the police dropped the charges.

She calls Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Cal Roberson. She says it’s all false, and everything in the report is news to her.

When the newlyweds reunite, Mia runs into Tristan’s arms. They seem happy to be together again, but Mia quickly wants to address the police report (which she says she never saw before). She vaguely knows the guy pressing charges because “it’s a small town,” she says, but she doesn’t know why he would make up this story.

Tristan believes his wife, especially since the police let her go without posting bail. Mia is grateful that her husband can make her feel safe.

However, the trailer for next week’s episode makes it clear that Mia might still be keeping some secrets.

The day after they have sex, Amber reveals that she used to date one of Dave’s friends. Dave even remembers Amber’s ex talking about her. He says that he would’ve dropped out if he realized his wife was someone that had dated one of his friends, but he knows that they have to work through it.

Danielle knows that she doesn’t want to give up her career, though. She says that she might not want that, and Bobby says that’s O.K. They’re a team either way.

The two couples meet during their Mexico trip up to go ziplining and swimming. The little swimming area has some steep, rickety steps leading down that freak out Danielle. Bobby tells the cameras that he is scared of heights as well, but he decides to be strong for his wife, who is actually shaking.
